Ethical Rules for Referrals

A new set of rules for the ethical practice of law in Texas have taken affect, changing the responsibility of the referring lawyer. These rule changes have made it even more important for  referring attorneys to exercise caution when referring their clients to another law firm. Historically, over 90% of all our cases are referrals from other attorneys. In fact, our practice has been built upon referrals from other attorneys and law firms as well as former clients. Our results are consistently excellent and our law firm is always ethical.

Each of our Austin-based personal injury partners is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Certification as a trial specialist in Personal Injury Trial Law. We are happy to pay our referral attorneys a share of fees earned in the case. Typically, referral fees are one-third of attorneys' fees for in-state cases and one-fourth of attorneys' fees for out-of-state cases.
